ABOUT

GAME & WILDLIFE ACADEMY FOR SOUTHERN AFRICA

The wildlife industry as we know it started in the 1970’s where the road to sustainable game and wildlife management was pioneered by dedicated wildlife ranchers. This industry holds great potential for further growth and development and generates valuable foreign value and investment into our economy.

The Game and Wildlife Academy for southern Africa was founded due to the need for tertiary accredited qualifications in the SADC countries environment. The production and management of game and wildlife products cannot be sustained completely on its own and needs to be supplemented through the support of agricultural commodities such as livestock, supplementary feeds and crops.

All qualifications offered by the Game and Wildlife Academy for southern Africa is aligned to agricultural production systems with specialisation and specialist knowledge on farm and ranch planning, business planning, wildlife management, ecological principles, wildlife species, natural grazing sciences, nutrition, diseases, biosecurity, genetics and breeding, consumptive and non-consumptive use of wildlife within the application of farm management, financial management, strategic management and hard-core industry applications of knowledge on the tourism and hospitality.
